Chris Broadbent

Chris has been a member of St Paul’s for almost 40 years and was previously Churchwarden from 1994 to 2002. Leading a young people’s group (Pathfinders) in the 1980’s, playing guitar in the church music group and in his role of PCC representative leading the current re-ordering project, he has been involved in many aspects of the life of St Paul’s over the years.
Chris is a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, with over 40 years’ experience in the engineering, property and construction sectors. Having recently left full time employment to focus on voluntary work, he was previously a Director of the Building Research Establishment and Managing Director of CEEQUAL Ltd, the Civil Engineering Environmental Awards Scheme.
Chris is married to Helen who is a local Optometrist and the Licenced Lay Minister at St Paul’s. They have three daughters (two living overseas) and two grandsons. Other interests include music, fell walking, badminton, travel and cars.
