INTERCULTURAL MISSION GREENHOUSE
The intercultural mission greenhouse provides a place where teams come together in person and online to learn, share knowledge, and receive training and coaching as they grow their mission initiative into an intentional intercultural worshipping community.
About the Greenhouse
Welcome to St Paul’s Slough Intercultural Mission Hub Greenhouse, a transformative initiative to nurture vibrant new worshipping communities through intercultural mission.
Just as a glass greenhouse provides the ideal environment for fragile seedlings, our Intercultural Mission Greenhouse offers a shelter for small teams from diverse parishes to develop their mission initiatives into thriving intercultural worshipping communities.
Most Greenhouses in the Diocese of Oxford have specific focuses, such as youth work or messy church, and cover just one deanery. This Greenhouse focuses on intercultural mission initiatives and spans several deaneries.
The Greenhouse will meet occasionally in person at St. Paul’s Slough and more regularly online.
Who Can Join?
St Pauls Slough Intercultural Mission Greenhouse welcomes everyone who envisions new intercultural worshipping communities emerging within their parish. Ideally, they should join the Greenhouse in small teams of three or more people, led by their incumbent or a person appointed by the incumbent.
The teams can be from any church across the diocese, small or large, from any tradition, background, stage, or potential new growth with or without a dominant UKME/GMH population.
What You Get
As a member of the greenhouse, you will become part of an intercultural learning community and receive invitations to Anglican intercultural mission conferences, e-newsletters, and conversations. You will also have free access to learning resources for intercultural ministry, including a complimentary subscription to the quarterly Oxford Journal of Intercultural Mission (OJIM). The Oxford Journal for Intercultural Mission is a popular and easy-to-read journal published quarterly by St Paul’s, Slough – the intercultural mission-resourcing hub in the Diocese of Oxford. The journal offers a range of reflections on issues impacting the growth of intercultural mission and ministry in the Church of England. These include building capacity and understanding of racial justice, global cultural awareness, and God’s great commission in the gospels.

Will it Cost Anything to Join a Greenhouse?
No. There is no fee for being part of a Greenhouse or any of the resources supplied. The ‘cost’ of this kind of ministry tends to be your time commitment and the funds you need to get your project off the ground or onto the next stage. How that happens will be down to you, your team, and the incumbent.
